Let's Talk About Children and Stroke
Let's Talk About Stroke

Even though it's considered an older person's disease, stroke is a potential risk for everyone, including children. If your child has symptoms of stroke, call 9-1-1 or go to a hospital emergency room department right away. In addition to describing the different types of stroke, this information sheet provides answers to the following questions:

  • What causes ischemic stroke in children?
  • What causes hemorrhagic stroke in children?
  • What are the effects of stroke in children?
  • Will my child get better?
  • How can I learn more?
  • What are the warning signs of stroke?
